We have adopted the latest proven technology in the field of PHOTONICS to engineer industry leading fire detection systems for the most onerous operating environments. In addition, our Distributed Temperature & Acoustic Sensing systems provide continuous condition monitoring of key assets. This allows a predictive asset management approach to be established which minimises unplanned outages, and avoids over-maintenance of equipment.

Les started his technical career on major industrial sites including BHP’s Newcastle Steel Works, followed by supervisor roles in chemical & pharmaceutical plants for Orica and ICI.
He then moved into contractor/consultant roles with Hunter Control, Honeywell and Sedgman before establishing his own systems integration company, Integration Automation and Control (IAC) in 2000.
IAC delivered major automation and software projects over a 10 year period for clients in the mining sector in Australia and internationally. IAC’s success attracted attention from larger competitors who eventually acquired it in 2009.
More recently Les has provided Process Control System consulting to BHP, FMG and Origin as Lead Control Systems Engineer for feasibility studies, commissioning, ramp up and optimisation of new coal, iron ore and gas processing facilities.
He is now one of the directors of Advanced Photonics Australia, and his personal mission is to work closely with clients in mining and heavy industry to assist them identify disruptive technologies which impact positively on the safety of their people and profitability of their operations.

Aldo started his career as an Electrical Engineer in the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure in Victoria. He then moved to working as an instrumentation and Process Control Systems Engineer for Fluor Australia primarily in the oil/gas, and food industry, before moving to Newcastle NSW.
In Newcastle he has worked for Hunter Control, Matrikon, and Honeywell progressing from Project Manager, Operations & Engineering Manager of the Matrikon Automation business, through to marketing leader for Honeywell’s mining and materials handling business in Asia Pacific working primarily in the coal mining sector for over 25 years.
He is now one of the directors of Advanced Photonics Australia, and his personal mission is to evaluate the needs for fire safety in both public facilities and industry and to apply innovative solutions to improve site safety & optimise operations.
